This consortium is a university-industry collaborative initiative for research, education and transfer of emerging technologies and design/construction methods to enhance use of coal combustion products (CCPs) and flue gas desulfurization (FGD) by-products, in particular fly ash, in beneficial medium to large-volume geo-technical applications such as soil stabilization and improvement. The consortium conducts multidisciplinary research and industry and government-based collaborative experiments on new CCP and FGD beneficial use paradigms. It also provides a learning community for companies to share their experiences in implementing beneficial use, lessons learned, best practices and performance metrics.

The consortium was recently involved in two field projects for the demonstration of construction process of fly ash stabilized subbases.

Fly ash collected from the consortium members are being used for Soil Stabilization
